Painted Christmas Greeting Signs

Hey Ya'll!

My friend is really into vinyl - you know the way I am into paper... So she has a ton of awesome stuff she has created using vinyl and wood. She hosted a day of making some Christmassy items and I was excited to participate! I am thrilled with the result so I thought I would show you what I made there.

These are all smoother wood boards cut to size. They are painted white and left to dry then a sheet of vinyl is applied and the letters are removed carefully. You custom mixed the paint color of your choice and liberally painted it across the letter area then left to dry. You can even add a bit of glitter like I did with the word white and the snow flakes. The next step is removing the rest of the vinyl. Once that is done the edges and top are sanded haphazardly with a power sander and the dust wiped off.  (That part is super fun!)  Then stain is applied to the corners and sometimes a bit across the top to your crafty delight. It can once dry be further sanded if desired. Heavenly artistic fun!

The possibilities are endless. Her cutter can seemingly do anything. Letters and shapes - its pretty neat. The colors possible with paint mixing and the uniqueness of sanding and staining makes each piece as individual as the crafter whose hands develop the finished product.

Her blog is pretty awesome you can check her out at Gypsy's Nook. Her page is totally crafty eye candy!
